Sorting, Glazing, & Pooped

11 hours later and all of these little pieces are glazed and in the kiln, ready to be fired in the morning. There are 60 some buttons, at least 15 pendants, countless beads, some glaze tests, and some brand spanking new work. I am tired. I am bone weary.

But it is worth it. Tomorrow my son comes home for a long weekend. Then in a week my daughter comes home for a few days. It is worth it to get this work out of the way. I've got an entire day to get some badly needed house things done. Then it is a bit of special family time.

This time of year is especially important to me. It is a time of renewal. Spring is here. The garden is getting greener and greener. I saw our male cardinal early this morning. A bright flash of red as he was looking for seeds in the trumpet vine. Then a little while later I heard his mate and spotted her in the pecan trees. I was worried about this pair after our winter weather last week. I love these birds. I'm happy they are back.

Best, LeAnn

Don'tcha just loove cardinals! We have 2 pair that come and sit in some bushes by our house. I think they are waiting for the birdseed to come back. We fed the birds when we first moved in, but the squirrels were out of control so we quit. Cardinals are so smart, I can feel their little eyes watching me and asking in their heads, what's up sister, where are the seeds!!??!!

Lots of pretty goodies! Are your kids in college? We have lots of cardinals here, and have you ever noticed how many songs they have? My kids are I love one particular song and sing it in the house sometimes, and laugh!

Thanks for stopping by all.

Sharon, I'm really looking forward especially to my daughter coming down. It's been just about a year since she's been home. Altough we see her when we go north.

Sue both of mine have flown the nest. One's a medic, the other a nurse.

Lorelei, the cardinals are my one of my favourite birds. I love that red of the male and that if you see him in a little while you can find his mate.

Silke, so happy your buttons are there and they work. Looking forward to seeing them on the jacket.

Criti, I'll put pics up this weekend hopefully.

Cheers All!
