Downtown Art Market

Remembered the camera, too busy to take much for photos. But I did capture my 'assistant' up there with my little 4 foot long table. Now that I'm looking at this photo, it looks like somebody didn't get the table cloth centered very well. Must have been the studio assistant. I'm sure I could not possibly have missed this.
This is the second of the new monthly art market and it's shaping up to be a really wonderful community event. It's fun! I met a two talented sisters, one doing fabulous digital collage, the other making upcycled bags and bright fun children's things, especially for boys. A quilter and a knitter who I could talk buttons and fiber with. One person was gathering details to compile a list of local artists that will be housed in the art center here. How cool is that?
One of my favourite things was a woman who came by my table, looked at some square plates, and then carried one over to a soap maker to find the perfect bar to fit the plate. I guess what I'm really enjoying most about this is the very non-competitive and completely supportive attitude of the artists at the art market. So refreshing and so good for everyone.
So we are home, we are hot, we neeeed showers. It was a hot humid day. It was like Mississippi. We are not used to that. We are tired and off to order pizza and set in front of the telly with a video. We don't even care what video. We do care about the blessing of air conditioning. What a marvelous invention.

glad you had an enjoyable day... show can be grueling... but a relaxed community type environment must have made such a difference! and i love how even one or two people can just light up your day...

Hi LeAnn!
I totally love your setup, and the printed pictures of jewelry turned out so great!!
Hey, are you selling that long platter at the right side of this photo? I LOVE IT!

Mary Jane, the people at this market are really what it is all about for me. The vendors and the people coming out to it are all just wonderful.

Lorelei, tee hee, I hated that platter. My neighbor bought it and asked me to make the little square plates for her shop.

Trying again ... verizon fios is NOT all that it's cracked up to be. And now I'm stuck with it. LeAnn - how nice that you have such a wonderful partner! I am sending positive zen goodness your way! And trying to stop the jealous feelings that I have!

I am so glad it was a wonderful day for you LeAnn! What a great display too. I like when artists are supportive of each other, that's how we feel when we go to Taos, love the people there! Enjoy your night

Sue, we're in another storm here and our internet connection is having a couple of tantrums. Peter said he actual loves doing the market.

Tammy, we'd love to do a Taos show. We're only 6 hours out, which as you know is a pretty darned short trip by western standards. Maybe we'll catch up there one day!

That's great that you had a good day, and a willing assistant to help you out! I know that's one of the hardest things about doing these shows - I helped a friend out at one because she didn't want to be completely tied to the table (what if she'd needed a potty break?)...

Enjoy your movie and air conditioning - I love ours, too :o)

Mummy,

We just wanted to remind you that we have worked out a division of labour here. We are your 'assistants', and Daddy is your 'roadie'. But anyway, we all love you.

It's good that you had a wonderful day. I know how they can wipe you out, specially in the heat. Cudos for your helper...you should give that man an ice cream cone or something...lol!
Air conditioning is my best friend too...

LeAnn, Your display really does look nice and inviting. I can't see why anyone would not want to stop by and at least say hi. Hope you have a relaxing cool evening.

I think we all wish we were so lucky as to have a guy we could depend on like that. Love the photos of the jewelry, they are a great addition to your table, I will have to remember to do that. I was actually thinking of including a scrapbook or something.
