It's sooooo quiet!

Barbeque for 40, a trip to Carslband Caves, lasagne, carrot cake, TexMex, raspberry cream filled brownies, countless hours of intense board games, a son, a neice, a nephew, a brother, a sister, a brother -in-law. ...... Laughter...... 6 days.

It is so quiet here now.

I'll be joining Alice here on the sofa shortly for a little rest. Tomorrow, I'll be back in the studio. Meanwhile, I will hold close each precious moment that Peter and I were able to spend with our family who all live so far away.

Oh but think of all the wonderful memories you got to make. I don't think there is anything that can completly take away the ache of having family far away :( But being able to recall the memories made can be a healing balm! :)

Wow, I'm bushed just reading about it!! Have a snuggle with Alice and catch your breath (she is probably worn out from excessive tail wagging!). Glad you had a good time with family!

SharonP, Sharon, & Renate, Alice, is exhausted. The tail went non-stop and she spent the night stretched as long as she could make herself on the sofa with no one to share it. She will sleep for the next few days like a college kid returning from South Padre spring break.

Pattie, I know you know all about long distance family. And I completely agree those memories can be healing balm. They are like little treasures you get to take out an hold when you need them.

kind of sad that there is never a vacation after a vacation! :o) but really happy that you got to replenish on hugs, love and laughter with your family...

Sounds like you had a wonderful time full of great food, family and fun! It's always sad (even though it was exhausting) after your family leaves though. Time to take a breather!

I'm glad you enjoyed the time with your family! Alice looks like she's telling you that it's about time those people all left (so she could get her couch back, of course!)...Not that she minds any extra attention, I'm sure! :o)

Mary Jane, I have an entire years supply of family hugs!

Cindy, unforunately, no breather for me as we leave for Portland on Wed and have art market a day after we get back.

Katie, Alice is ecstatic to have her sofa all to herself. Loved the attention.. now it is time to stretch out!

So glad you were able to enjoy time with your family. I know how hard it can be and consider myself lucky that most of my familia is just 4-6 hours away in New Mexico.
Enjoy Portland!

What a lovely Alice -- mmm, in her own Wonderland? -- there on the couch. I'm sure it must have seemed like Wonderland to everyone to have had such a fantastic time with one another...

Have a wonderful rest of weekend and thanks for your visit and comments, too!

Oh the caves...what a blast! But I understand the desire to be on the couch after all the fun :) Enjoy your siesta...
