October already?

Where did September go? I know I've spent the last couple of days nursing a cold and now seasonal allergies and asthma. But really where did September go? I need it back. I need more time.

I did manage to get a kiln load glazed and fired over the last couple of days. I've been working on getting a couple of favourite designs into porcelain. Among them is this koi pendant. And I must say I am pleased with the results. This one is in a glaze that I've been working on off and on for a while. It's quite a deep teal, one of my favourite colours. Teal is an autumn colour, right?

A few experiments were in there as well. More on that later. Right now I think I need a tea with lemon. Maybe a medicinal toddy is in order?

i think that particular teal is a pretty enough color for ANY season!

Thanks, Anna! I'm not actually very seasonal with colour. But I do fin myself drawn to more intense colour as winter comes.

teal is definitely an autumn color! funny, i was just thinking of working with some apatite and teal components... very denim/grey/brown compatible - yes with brown, i love that combo! this koi fish is so wonderful - love it in any medium...

MJ, teal and brown is right up there in my fav colour combos. I've got some beads I just finished in those colours. And as you know, the koi is one of my favourite creatures.

Ohhhh this is sooo beautiful LeAnn!! My favorite color, and it's really highlighted so well in this color! Just gorgeous, and I hope you feel better soon!

This pendant would be beautiful in any colour, but I do love the way it has those light highlights and the glaze is deep and pooled in the lower spots. (of course, where else would it pool?) The design is so beautifully crisp.
Stop nursing that cold and tell him to get out of the house!! Hope you are better soon!

This pendant is a real winner ... very sophisticated looking. Love the way you wiped the high points to accentuate the design. And, I love anything with a fish motif ... very Asian!

I love October but I am not ready either....now a new "project" will take over my life, and jewelry it is not!
Love the koi pendant. The color is so wonderful and deep. And yes, my favorite sweater is teal so this would go quite nicely in autumn, thank you very much. But I think that a rich russet or deep orange-y pumpkin color would be nice as well. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy the day! Erin

Love that pendant and the color. I've got some amazing snakeskin jasper rondelles that would go perfectly with it :-)

LeAnn,

I have to say that a nice medicinal toddy is absolutly the best medicine for a cold!!! If you have a bit of a cough or sore throat warm a little bit of (good) brandy mix in a small spoon of honey and a good squeeze of lemon stir until the honey melts then sip. Perferably in front of a fire with a good mystery, your favorite jammies and fuzzy slippers. It's the only known cure for the common cold!! Just ask doc.Mom she'll tell ya!!

Oh I think your teal koi is amazingly beautiful and very fallish.
