Butterflies

Do you remember way back when, I was working on drawing (doodles) based on Japanese fabric? Well that drawing has been modified, edited, pared down, and these are the first pressings of one of the finalists. Sometimes it takes me an incredibly long time settle on a final form. Actually, there are two contenders for this particular design and one of them failed in the molding. Oh, well. I'll make another one later.

I love butterflies. I love watching them hover over my flowers, flitting from one flower to the next. I am ready for spring and it is only mid January. Fortunately, for me, spring comes early here compared to where I grew up. We've been having warm weather over the past few days. I am ready for it to be consistently warm. Are you ready for spring? I am so wanting my iris to come into bloom. But that's a couple months off. Instead I'll just create a little artifical spring with butterfly pendants and other bits of garden lovlies.

And thank you all for such wonderful birthday wishes!

I love these little critters LeAnn!!

I'm glad to hear that the frigid north has pulled back north from you!!! I'm not saying anything to loud but I think we might just get through this winter without Mother Nature noticing she has forgotten to send up winter!! :)

They look so light and happy, springy! Oh how I wish the buds were starting to peek through. I try to look at it that at least we are atleast halfway to spring, so I figure we are on the upside. Something to look forward to!

Lovely little butterflies! Spring won't be here for a while yet - although from my point of view, it could get here tomorrow and not a minute too late... but I shall have to be patient. There could be a lot of winter still in store.

Very cute butterflies! I can't wait for spring, too, but Feb. seems to be a miserable month here in the 'burgh so I'll have to wait a bit!

You've done well in paring down your drawing - lovely! Can't wait to see what they look like when they're glazed and fired!

Thanks everyone. A few of these will go in the kiln tonight (Friday). Stay warm and think spring, except for Viki, you can stay cool and think autumn :-)

Those butterflies are wonderful. Such a clear crisp design. Should make wonderful pendants. And fun to glaze too.
