In the middle of it all I take a detour

Two bronze firings, one bisque firing, and a table of pieces sorted for glazing and I decided I absolutely, positively had to do something totally unrelated to the bead show I'm getting ready for. This is actually quite typical for me. It's part of the Procrastination Queen syndrome. This is sophisticated procrastination. I made something. Ever since I first made the little branch toggle bars I've wanted to make a branch pendant hanger. So I had to do it even though it isn't on the list. Out of the kiln, into the tumbler, and the bronze piece just screamed at me to drop everything and add a bitty bird. I feel better and I even got a lot on the list done today.

Now I'm back to tackling that load of bisque up there. There's two glaze kiln loads in that pile. I'm about half done. Oh and I think there is a copper firing in the near offing and I smell a bit of LOS in my future. Lots of work ahead for me this weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone!

You do amazing work LeAnn. I know that feeling when something takes over and you are no longer in control--the muse is doing the driving. I think that is one of the great bonuses of the creative life.

you are allowing both your right brain and left brain some time - good job! i am glad that you 'let yourself' play a bit - you know it would only have been nagging at you if you hadn't!!

Cute birdie dangle from the branch. But what I wanna see is pics/explanations of what the difference is between bisque/copper/ceramic/glaze firings. Am I mixing up terms? I am ceramic ignorant. Please educate me, PQ :D

Your pendant is oh so cute. Love the contrast of strength. The branch looks so strong and the bird so delicate. That kiln load looks incredible, LeAnn.

Looks as though you have been very good about getting your work load accomplished. That load of bisque looks awesome!

LeAnn, I do the same exact thing...take a detour or two and procrastinate. The perfect example? I had a writing project to finish up last night, and after all of the procrastination I did - it was 3 a.m.! Good luck this weekend!
