A flower here
A bird there
Look a butterfly!
I am in the final days of getting ready for my biggest show of the year. My mind is a little like it is filled with butterflies flitting here and there. I am a little on auto pilot when it comes to design right now. Just kind of doing what feels right at the moment.
You know, I never think of myself as nature inspired. But I looked around at the things I've made and by golly, virtually every piece has some sort of nature theme. It's almost like I planned it that way. This show is either going to look like I had a concept or it's going to look really really boring. But it will be done and over and I will clean up the mess next week.
This is what the mess looks like. This isn't even my studio. This is a folding table set up in the dining room. I am not sure where the dining room table is. I haven't really seen much of it for a month. And the studio? Well it's bad, very bad.
Guess what? That little piece in the center up there, it's a dragonfly. Yep, I am definitely nature girl this autumn.

Go, nature girl! I love the designs you're putting together and hope you have a great show!
And hey, my dining room table has been covered with Legos, transformers, toy cars, construction paper, paint and various other kid crap for months now and I've ceased to care LOL!
what will happen is that you will go to the show and you will have a presence... people will feel that they have an understanding of what your aesthetic is and what you enjoy... that is a good thing... and thank you for showing your work table... mine looks like that too - so i feel better now...
plans don't always have to be conscious! your unconscious was doing the work on this one! Excellent work. Your sneak peeks here are lovely! Phew, I'm so glad someone else's work space looks like mine. Mine has layers, like an archeological site with four different civilizations buried in it. You could dig down and probably figure out what my first plan was and every time I changed my mind. Like tree rings.
I wish you a bang-up show!
What great work, LeAnn! You can clean up in January!
One thing is for sure...It won't be boring! Your work is fabulous! How can we NOT be inspired by nature when we are surrounded by it? You can clean up anytime...right now a deadline calls...I'm feeling the same pressure:)
Have a wonderful show and lots of success. Cleaning up can wait and wait and wait. Love your work.
I am in that worktable club too!
Your nature inspired projects are killer LeAnn...I know they will sell. Wishing you all the best!
That is FANTASTIC!!! I love folding tables just for that reason - to make more areas for creative chaos! I think I had one of those days today where there was so many projects all over the place that I couldn't get one thing completed. Super frustrating… But tomorrow I plan on not checking email as much (one of the "bad" things about having an iPhone… hard to not keep up with things going on…). It's like not eating the chocolate… Just doesn't happen;)
Have a GREAT show! I think people that love clay beads happen to love nature a lot too - they go hand in hand! Like chocolate in the mouth. Sheesh - I can't get away from chocolate today!
I love your work table, because it looks just like mine and I feel right at home! I love all of the pieces and I am sure all of your customers will too! The patina on the etched dragonfly is stunning!
I love them all and I am thrilled you showed your mess because my husband doesn't understand how I have taken over not 1 but 2 rooms in our home. I have beady goodness all over the dining room table, kitchen island AND in the garage workbench.
I try to keep it contained but it seems to spill over when I am busy.
I hope you do very well at your show, your things are lovely!

I think it is all beautiful - your wonderful, inspired designs and your work table. This is what creativity looks like. Love the little bird pendant - just so perfect.
I am wishing your show to be fantastic in every aspect - and I am sure it will be.
Dance with your muse, as long as she is in the mood. You can clean up anytime.
They are gorgeous, I'm sure your show will be a success!
I can just feel the creativity at a feverish pitch! LeAnn, your show will be a huge success....just looking at your new drool-worthy pieces! I especially love the etched butterfly - what incredible work.
I love the cohesive look of your pieces! I think most people that appreciate handmade also are lovers of nature so it's a perfect marriage. I'm sure you will have much success at your show! Thanks for the comment on my organizational skills, if I lived closer I'd be glad to come by and help, but something tells me we'd end up playing and talking more than working!
I love everything you do! And folding tables come in SO handy when things go nuts!
