It is HOT!!!!!

No not the buttons. They are an unusual coulour combination requested by a friend. It's not a combination that would come naturally to me. But it's kind of growing on me. And that bright stripe of orange sherbet kind of makes me think of the weather today. Sizzling hot!

We are not talking about ordinary hot. No sir. It is stinking, unbearable, makes me cross, hot. It is 106F today. Not even the dogs will go outside. Haven't been out since 11am. They have strategically positioned themselves under a ceiling fan with an AC vent that blows on them. In the middle of our bed. These are above average, almost smart dogs. This is where I should be.

This is not a clay studio day. It is far too hot out there. Nothing in the world could convince me to go out there. So what's a girl to do? Inspired by that hot stripe of orange on those buttons, I got out my thrift store hand bag an slapped on a little pop of colour in honour of this sizzling hot day. This button was made from one of the new texture plates that I made from a sea shell. And soaking in the ocean is where I'd really like to be right now. I'm trying to mentally transport myself there right now. I'm pretty sure there is a tall cold fruity drink of some sort involved. Ah, yes, the picture is getting clearer. It's a resort, there are beach side chairs, there are waiters bring me drinks.....It is not 106F.
OK back now. I think I'll go out and fry some eggs on the front walk.

Nice addition to your bag, looks really great!
I don't even know what to say about the heat.....I feel bad for you, and I wish we had a little more here! I know, I know, not 106, but could you just bottle up a little please?!!!
Hang in there honey!

I like the orange shell bead - very summery and it looks great on the bag.

And I SO feel your pain - my car told me it was 104 on the way home...I know that's more of a "feels like" number, but that's what we have to deal with on the coast - heat + humidity = running from air conditioner to air conditioner :o)

You could go join the dogs under the AC vents - that's what I feel like doing sometimes!

Sharon I would love to send you a little of this heat! I belive that Renate has requested some as well.

Katie, all I can say is at least it is dry here. I don't think I could deal with your kind of humidity on top of the heat.

I was immediately drawn to that color combination, it works.

Anne, I'm glad you like that combination. I'm looking at how to use it in other things. Thank you!

LeAnn, I have lots of eggs I can give you if want to try. It was very hot here also, the west side of my house said 108, I think only 104.
Thanks for stopping by my farm blog. My show was really great, a bunch of very nice girls (young and not so young) came and so interest in my jewelry. Makes it a lot of fun, and I sold a bunch so I better get busy.

Debbie, I am so happy your show went well. And especially that it was fun. Eggs? Looks like we might both be able to fry eggs outside on the walk!

And the forecast shows 101 to 106 for the next week! Can you imagine what it will be like in 3 to 4 weeks?

I can really relate-we had 103 degrees today and temps will climb to 108 by Sunday...I think we need a cabana boy to serve us frosty cocktails!

Carol, this is what has got me wanting to go to Alaska! This hot weather is way too early.

Sharon, I completely agree, a cabana boy...even just a cabana!

Lovely pieces, LeAnn! I am sooo trying to send you some cool! Last night we had a low of 50F, we won't even reach 70F today. Well, at least I know where our summer is - it's on vacation in Texas!!

I agree with with you - the color combination isn't one I would normally choose but now that I see it, I love it!

I feel for you - that's hot! I used to live in the Southwest and I know it can be unbearable! It's like being in the Northeast in the winter - unbearable! Extreme temperatures but still the result is the same - you have to stay inside!

Hope you get a respite from the heat soon and can get into your studio!

LeAnn, that color combination reminds me of cantalope. You know when you cut it, and you get the orange inside, the green peel and the outside rind?

You're channeling summer fruits and veggies!

When it's super hot like that, I used to wear a swimsuit with a t-shirt over it all day, and just keep them soaking wet, including my hair! External air conditioning of a sort.

Beautiful button for your bag! It's hot here today, but not 106! You should definitely go to the store and get yourself some maitai mix and some rum and have a nice little tropical drink!

Sorry it's so hot. I'll try to waft some cool ocean breezes your way - except our temps started to climb, today, too, although nowhere near as bad as yours (yet). Love the green/brown/orange buttons!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit LeAnn,

You must have come by on your way to the beach?? Let me know next time and I'll be sure there is a cold pitcher of limonada in the frig! :) It's not 106 here BUT I'm telling you 92 with 90% humidity will make you darn cranky also!! The only solution LW and I could come up with was to grab our books, chairs, sunscreen and head to the beach. You are welcome to come visiting anytime. SW Texas is a short plane ride away. And the guest room is always available for my Bloglandian sisters:)

Gorgeous buttons, gorgeous work! And it was hot here around the same time... unusual for it to be 102F in Athens GA before the 4th!

Say, my dogs are that smart too. What the???
Take care and I'll check back soon!
