Where has LeAnn been?

I've been wondering where the last couple of days went. And then I got one of these. Photos of viruses are incredibly beautiful I think. But the thought of those little guys swimming around my lungs, wreaking all sorts of havoc is not so nice. So good daughter Sarah, the ICU nurse who's been treating H1N1 cases for the last week, finally scared the bejesus out of me. Told me that I fit her typical patient profile, 'older' ( I am not), asthmatic (not my fault), prior pneumonia (true), waits too long to get treatment (I don't like all the germs in clinics). It wasn't all of the scary disease complications so much as the reminder of what a horrible patient I would be. And that nurses do not like horrible patients. I don't want to be a bad patient and have nurses hate me. Quick trip to the doc, all is well. I have an ordinary cold and a vaciantion, a vacination that I was scheduled to get 3 weeks ago. And a doctor's blessing to sleep in and nap. I like naps. I don't really have time right now for naps but I will do as told and be a good patient. Really truly, I will try to get over the instinct to challange authority.

Sounds familiar...I am not the best patient either...I tend to get whiny :o) The last time I had the flu, I waited so long to go the doctor that he almost put my in the hospital - the nurse ran out to yank him from another patient when she saw my temp was 103 or 104 (I guess that's why I felt funny driving to the doctor's office...).

But, having almost been in the hospital with the flu once, I am a good girl and get my shot every year - if only because they bring people in to work to give us shots if we want them :o)

I am glad that you only have a cold and that you got your shot! Now go take a nap!

And that picture is AWESOME!

Feel better! Love any excuse for a nap - or no excuse at all! I have had pneumonia 4 times in my life and DON'T like it! But I hate going to the doctor too!

My husband's grandma apparently has H1N1 but I am sure she must be fine by now since we herd on the weekend and we have not had any bad news. There are 6-7 hour waits for the vaccine so I am waiting a little while until it slows down. I hope you feel better soon, I am sick too, sore throat and ear ache but that's it.

Hugs
Marie

Now you have an excuse to take it easy. Naps are the doctor's orders so you'd better do as he says. Time to rest and maybe watch a few good movies or maybe read a book. Hm, maybe I should get sick. That kinda sounds like the life. Seriously though, I hope you are back to yourself soon. Feel better!

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep....
I got my regular flu vaccine a week ago and it made me really sleepy. But no bad reaction, and I am on the waiting list for H1N1 vaccine now because I'm high risk being in my third trimester and have had recent breathing issues with a sinus infection pre vaccine.

And being short and all, not that much room in there for regular lung expansion, so have to watch out for H1N1 sneaking in pneumonia on me if I do get sick...

Scary either way really... Oh, and very cool picture by the way - love those scanning electron microscope images!

Take lots of naps and have some hot tea with honey and a splash of brandy--works every time!

Ah, so you're the rebellious type, huh! I never would have guessed! Your picture -- it's hard to believe that something so beautiful could be such a nuisance. Take care of yourself and I'll look forward to your return!
