Birds and Drops

But not bird droppings! I unloaded the kiln this morning. And I really could not be more pleased. These are a couple of the new bird beads in an aqua glaze. Each little bird poked and prodded into a wee little bird. Coaxed into being from a little lump of clay. Very smooth and tactile. I like that. I like beads that just kind of beg to be touched. Is that weird? Well if it is, then I am definitely on the weird end of the spectrum.

And then there are the drops. Rain drops, tear drops, I am not entirely certain how you name these. It's new. I don't entirely know where these came from. I do know that one day this little drop shape just sort of begged to come into existence. Sometimes it just happens that way. And many times that is just a lot of alright.
And speaking of drops. Well, we are raining today. We are sleeting today. We are snowing today. Well, Madame Weather, please make up your mind. I need some just straight ole, same ole, same ole weather. Non of this wintry mix, please.

Sharon, I am ready for spring. I am begging for spring. And the props? Well, I couldn't get these little birdies to stand up and the batik stamps were there. Thanks so much!

I think all little hand shaped birds belong to the same species! I have a little baby blue one that I'm pretty sure is the 2nd cousin to yours...he has a tangerine beak though :)

The little bird - enchanting, so fresh! The drops - remind me strongly of paisley; they look a little ethnik and are gorgeous.
The batik stamp is fantastic - funny, I pulled out a couple of mine the other day!
The weather - well, let me say nothing more than we have the same here.
Have a wonderful day, LeAnn!!

I love the little birds. They look so soft in that light blue glaze.

Digging the new white background of the blog, too. Please don't tell me it changed months ago. That would just be further confirmation I am turning into my Mom :)

Go away rain & nasty weather. We are so ready for Spring!

I can see the bird on a long necklace where you can touch it, like a "touch stone". The tear drops look like paisley to me, the same shape and design, very nice!

I can't get enough birds. This time of year the bird feeder is closer to the house and I love watching them. Last week while driving my daughter to skiing I even saw an eagle, in Upstate NY.

Pretty little birdies! We are going to get snow tomorrow night, 8 inches, and DC is going to get around 20 inches! All from this storm you are sending our way!

Sweet tweets!
I love those drops. I think they look a bit like paisly or mendhi (spelling?) designs with henna.
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day! Erin

The little birds are the sweetest! I was hoping to see them on your etsy site....sigh.

The drops remind me of some gift sent down by an Aztec Goddess.

They're all beautiful!

LeAnn,

If these little blue birds don't kick Ma Nature into gear nothing will!! Oh and count me in as the touchy feely kinda girl. I can't pass anything fabric, plant, stone, pottery I mean nothing without touching to satisfy my tactile sense!!! :) The "drops" remind me of the ends of beautiful peacock feathers!

Those little birds are adorable!! And the drops are very exotic. They look like something you'd get in another country. You're so talented, it's not fair!!

Lovely birds--so soft and silky--the drops are wonderful colors and shapes. I like the way you did the holes.
