Celebration

One of the really great things about being an adult and an adult with no children at home who need you as a role model is that you can choose to have cake as your main course for dinner.  Which is what I did last nite. Specifically, it was a Chocolate Explosion Cake served with Ben and Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch ice cream. Truly decadent. It was a little party to celebrate my last day of chemo. Four cycles, four candles. End of the hardest part of my journey. A celebration that in three weeks I'll be back to 'normal.'

I haven't been around over the last few weeks. I've missed you all. The last cycle of chemo didn't go as well as I'd hoped. There was the incident with a spider bite and the infection that followed. Then there was the infection in the infusion vein. Lots of antibiotics, lots of time down for healing. I don't know what to expect this time around. But I do know that it will all pass. Put into the context of my life time it is only a small moment. A significant moment but only a short one.

I'll be back to the studio soon. I'll be back here soon. I'll be back to my life soon. Your generous out pouring and healing thoughts over the last months have made a difference in my life. I am grateful.

Now the only thing I really need is for someone to come by and clean that window behind that cake :-)

Truly a reason to celebrate! So happy to hear from you. Although I hate cleaning windows (actually, cleaning period) I would come over in a heartbeat to help, if that dang puddle wasn't so big...
You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

"Life's uncertain. Eat dessert first." That's my motto and words to live by. Congratulations on making it through the chemo rounds. Big wishes for continued healing.

How smart of you to celebrate especially after such a rough patch; hope all goes swimmingly well and you are back to your studio feeling wonderful. You must be a very brave and intelligent woman to handle of of this with such positive determination.
Best wishes and hugs, I would wash your window if I were closer. Doing chores for someone you care about is one way of saying I wish I could make it all better soon. Hugs, Joan T

Oh - I think we share the same love of desserts (in amongst other things!). I am relieved that you are finally finished your chemo. Scary about the spider bite and infection. It is amazing that when you are trying to kill off any cancer in your body with Chemo, that every little possible trite thing (trite when you are your normal healthy self) can come in and really work a number on your system.

I sure hope that your body finds the normal balance of health, strength, and being able to fight off all those "normal trite" things. And that you avoid anything else that may trip you up along this journey.

Healing thoughts coming your way as always LeAnn {{{Hugs!}}}

Eating dessert first is always a good plan! I've been thinking about you a lot and wishing you the best. Having been through it with my hubby, I know that each day seems to last forever, but I'm confident you'll get through and get past. I'll keep sending you my best wishes!
